For over 170 years, Heinz Furniture has been a beloved staple of Carlinville and Central IL., providing quality furniture, window treatments, floor coverings, and mattresses to generations of loyal customers. And now, with its fifth generation of ownership, the Gustav legacy lives on.
The story of Heinz Furniture is a testament to the American dream. Peter Heinz, a German immigrant, came to America and opened a humble furniture and floor covering shop in Carlinville. With hard work and dedication, he built a successful business and raised four sons who would carry on his legacy.
The Heinz brothers - Al, Charles, Henry, and Gustav - were a force to be reckoned with. They ran the business until Gustav's three sons: William, Howard, and Harold took over. And it was Harold's son, Gregory Gustav Heinz, who would ultimately take the reins and lead the family business into the modern era.
On January 1st, 2016, Gustav Heinz sold the business to his daughter Danlee and son-in-law Greg Whitler and made sure the Heinz Furniture legacy lived on in the same location. What sets Heinz Furniture apart from other businesses is its unwavering commitment to customer service. In its earliest days, the Heinz family understood that happy customers were the key to success. And that dedication to quality service continues to this day.
